Religion Or Relationship?

“I’ve heard some say that Christianity is not a religion, but a relationship. What does that mean?”

According to Webster’s Dictionary, religion is defined as a “commitment or devotion to religious faith or observance,” or “a personal set or institutionalized system of religious attitudes, beliefs, and practices.” In one sense, Christianity certainly is a religion.

“I recently heard a newscaster say that creationism had no scientific merit and shouldn’t be taught in schools, how would you respond?”

As a Christian, I believe (by faith and reason) that the biblical account of creation is true. Attached to the question of human origin are many other important questions concerning purpose, morality, and the dignity of human life.

If God Knows Everything

If God knows everything I will do, can I really make free choices?

This question has plagued philosophers and theologians for centuries. The debate centers on the tension between the sovereignty of God and the free will of man. If God is sovereign, that is, has full control over the universe, can man be free to make real cause and effect choices for which he is accountable?
